The event is aimed at smaller clubs and juniors who are not expecting to medal at the National Schools Regatta and gives a great test for juniors over 750 metres on a multi lane course. A team of 10 juniors raced in a number of combinations in coxed quads, double sculls and single sculls putting in wonderful performances across the board in very testing conditions. Performances of note came from Matt Jackson who made the final of the year 8 single sculls (coming 5th), racing as a year 7 and Charlotte Bertelli and Sophie Bell who put in a gritty performance in the year 8 girls double sculls narrowly missing out on the final against some tough competition. All participants have come through the Blades learn to row courses last summer and have trained hard throughout the winter months in preparation for their first event. We are looking to expand numbers all the time through our learn to row courses on Sunday afternoons and during school holiday. Please look at our rowing pages for further information about the courses and how to book. 17/05/10 • Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre Inaugural Regatta Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre are due to hold their inaugural rowing regatta on Tuesday 21st June in conjunction with Sport Cardiff.
