Indoor Rowing Competitions

For those of you who enjoy the sport of Indoor Rowing we also run two successful competitions at the beginning of December each year.

Friday sees the Schools competition where over 700 children aged 11 to 18 from across Britain battle it out in individual and team events. The event is now established as the third largest junior’s indoor rowing event in Britain and growing year on year.

Sport Cardiff is supporting the event this year and will be helping with extra fun activities for everyone around the centre to support the event and keep everyone entertained between races.

The Open competition on the Saturday involves all age categories from age 11 to 70+ for both males and females. The main individual events are over 2000 meters and there are also team and individual sprint events available. We also offer events for adaptive athletes over 1000 metres.

The event takes place in a friendly environment with live commentary on all races producing an electric atmosphere. Whether you have a personal target to achieve or you want to unleash your competitive side this event has it all.

‘Indoor rowing has become a mass participation grass-roots activity, with an estimated half a million people working out on the machine every week in the UK alone. It's no surprise therefore that indoor rowing has become one of the fastest growing sports around.’
