Dinghy Instructor Courses Our instructor courses provide high quality training in teaching techniques - both ashore and afloat. Fully qualified RYA coaches/assessors guide participants through the intensive learning process required to become an instructor. Pre-entry Training and Assessment Before you can attend a Dinghy Instructor course, you must first pass a pre-entry assessment. During this day, we won't be going back to basics, so you must be familiar with the requirements laid out in the G14 (Instructor Logbook & Handbook). It is recommended that you have a go at the rudderless sailing and other the techniques needed for the pre-entry prior to the course, so that you are comfortable with the skills required.
A minimum of 3 persons required and subject to availability.
RYA Dinghy Instructor The course covers the RYA syllabus, instructional techniques, preparation of sessions (afloat and ashore) and is moderated on the final day by a second coach/assessor. To be eligible, you must be at least 16 years of age, have passed the pre-assessment test, hold a valid first aid certificate and a Level 2 Powerboat Certificate.
