RYA Powerboat Level 1

A one day practical introduction to powerboating, where you'll learn launching and recovery, basic boat handling and mooring techniques.

RYA Powerboat Level 2

A 2 day course that provides a thorough introduction to boat handling skills in Cardiff Bay and the Bristol Channel. Successful candidates can apply for the ICC (Power Coastal up to 10M).

RYA Intermediate Powerboat

A two day course that covers more advanced boat handling, and the practical use of pilotage and passage planning by day on coastal waters. By the end of the course, you should have the skills to confidently plan and execute a short daytime coastal passage.

RYA Advanced Powerboat

This course provides you with the skills and knowledge needed to drive a planing powerboat safely by day and night, in more demanding coastal waters.

RYA Safety Boat

A two day course that provides the skills and knowledge you need in order to act as a safety boat, escort craft or coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, canoes or windsurfers.

Private / 'Own Boat' Powerboat Tuition

Whether you're considering having some private tuition, would like to undertake a course on your own boat, or have already passed your RYA Level 2 and want more time on the water to consolidate your skills, then this is the option for you.

RYA Powerboat Instructor: Skills Assessment

A one day compulsory assessment needed to undertake the Powerboat Instructor course.

RYA Powerboat Instructor

A three day course, assessed by an independent Trainer on the third day, which allows you to teach the RYA Powerboat Level 1 and 2 courses (plus RYA Safety Boat if you hold that qualification).
