Cardiff Sailing Centre has been a Flagship Centre for the Rebels Sailing Programme since 2019.

The national sailing initiative for disadvantaged young people aged 11-14 is generously supported by INEOS, the company behind INEOS TEAM UK. They are the British challenger for the America’s Cup, led by Sir Ben Ainslie, the most successful Olympic sailor of all time, and organised by the 1851 Trust.

The aim of the project is to give sailing experiences to young people who would not otherwise have this kind of opportunity. The experiences give them the chance to develop important life skills, such as confidence, resilience and teamwork.

The sailing opportunities at each centre are fully funded, and students can take part in a taster session or work towards a nationally recognised qualification, such as RYA Stages 1 or 2.

If you wish to get involved in the programme and your school meets the criteria of a pupil premium percentage greater than 35%, or in Wales, an FSM greater than 20%, and is located within a 20 mile radius of Cardiff Sailing Centre, please contact us on:
