\"\"Sailing is one of the few sports where people with disabilities can participate on virtually the same terms as able-bodied sailors. It can be a thrilling sport that can be shared with family and friends.<\/p>\n

We offer a variety of pathways, from simple taster sessions where we get you on the water and introduce you to the basics, to courses based on the Royal Yachting Association\u2019s (RYA) National Sailing Scheme.<\/p>\n

We work closely with the National Governing Body for Sailing, along with other organisations, such as the Innovate Trust. With partnerships such as this, we are able to offer regular sessions allowing people with disabilities to access sailing.<\/p>\n

Cardiff Sailing Centre also has Foundation status with RYA Sailability, which helps us provide the facilities and expertise needed to enable people with disabilities to access this great sport.<\/p>\n

Wednesday Morning Drop-in<\/h3>\n

\"HansaIn partnership with the\u00a0Innovate Trust<\/a>, we run a drop-in session most Wednesday mornings between 10am and midday at Channel View Leisure Centre. These sessions start from 30 April 2025<\/strong> and run until October. Sessions cost \u00a310 and are weather and volunteer dependent. Innovate Trust has instigated a booking system to manage the sessions. Please contact them directly to book in.<\/p>\n

South Wales Sailability Club<\/h3>\n

\"HansaSouth Wales Sailability started in 2018 and runs sessions for those with disabilities on each week on Wednesday afternoons between 1.30pm and 4pm at Channel View Leisure Centre. These sessions start from 30 April 2025<\/strong> and run until at least September. Booking is required, and sessions cost \u00a310. The group can be contacted on southwalessailability@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe centre ran a sailing course over the summer for disabled children and young people, culminating in the first annual regatta. This group are often excluded from adventurous activities, so it was marvellous that so many people could take part. The young people experienced a real sense of achievement after completing the course.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
