Course info

This two day course provides a thorough introduction to powerboating, progressing the student from a complete novice to a competent boat handler in the calm waters of Cardiff Bay and the coastal waters of the Bristol Channel.

The course will include planing and/or displacement craft, cover launching and recovery, boat handling, coming alongside, picking up a mooring, man overboard and anchoring. Essential theory will be covered alongside the practical elements of the course.

Candidates can also then apply to the RYA for the International Certificate of Competence (Power Coastal up to 10M) on successful completion of the course if required.
