Course info
A three day course, assessed by an independent Trainer on the third day, which allows you to teach the RYA Powerboat Level 1 and 2 courses (plus RYA Safety Boat if you hold that qualification).
During the course, you’ll cover the principles of practical instruction, lesson planning, teaching styles, use of questioning, preparation and use of visual aids, assessment of students, learning, explanation and presentation of theory subjects, the structure of the scheme, planning progressive teaching sessions, preparation of boats and equipment, and teaching methods up to RYA Powerboat level 2.
To be eligible, you must be at least 16 years of age, have passed the skills assessment, hold a Level 2 Powerboat Certificate and valid first aid certificate, and have either five seasons of powerboat experience logged (in a range of boats), OR one season, for those who use powerboats as part of their full-time occupation.
